We are a nonprofit organisation dedicated to empowering communities through food, education, creative arts and wellbeing activities. Join us in our mission to create a better future for all.
Growing food with the local community is at the heart of what we do, and by using different spaces and methods, means we can produce a diverse range of crops. From Polycrubs and raised beds, to indoor vertical farming. See what we've been growing across Cardiff & The Vale of Glamorgan
Markets are an important part of bringing people together, and a great way to connect with local, seasonal and surplus food. We love to share recipe ideas and gather yours, so come and say 'hi'!
We assist communities in enhancing their well-being by promoting healthy eating. We achieve this by investing in personal skills, delivering practical and evidence-based education on food and nutrition, and collaborating with communities to enhance access to healthier food options.
Discover the advantages of cultivating your own crops in an indoor vertical farm. The rapid growth of Microgreens enables weekly harvesting throughout the year, promoting nutritional, mental health, and well-being benefits while being environmentally friendly. The comprehensive Pop Up! Package provides all the necessary resources, including training and support, to help you successfully launch your own farm.
Connect with food through creativity. Our KALES Studio (Kitchen-Arts, Learning through Experimentation and Sharing), is space and time to play with your food. Fancy botanical dyeing from food waste or making mandalas from dried spices fruits and seeds?
Our low impact mindful movement classes offer many benefits to mind and body, and practiced every day decreases the rate of depression, boosts your mood, gives you energy, and helps reduce anxiety. We like to connect our low impact classes to other activities such as nutrition, or creativity for a fully holistic experience.
Urban-Vertical CIC is pleased to announce this collaborative exhibition, which celebrates the achievements of our ten Space to Grow courses conducted between 2023 and 2024. In partnership with The Arts for Health and Wellbeing Team at Cardiff & Vale Health Charity, we were able to deliver these courses thanks to funding from the Arts for Health and Wellbeing Lottery funding stream, provided by The Arts Council of Wales.
